Biography

Since he embarked on his career as a photographer in the 1980s, Jordi Cotrina has specialised in sports photography. He has worked with tennis publications since 1981, with El Mundo Deportivo from 1985 to 1990, La Vanguardia in 1991, and since the Barcelona'92 Olympic Games he has worked with El Periódico de Catalunya, joining the photographic staff there in 1998.

He covered the Barcelona'92 Olympic Games and those of Atlanta in 1996, Sydney in 2000, Athens in 2004, Beijing in 2008 and London 2012, as well as the FIFA World Cup tournaments held in the United States (1994), France (1998) and Germany (2006) and the UEFA European Football Championships held in England (1996), Belgium and Holland (2000) and Portugal (2004).

He has photographed innumerable international tennis tournaments, amongst them twenty Roland Garros Tournaments, the most important clay-court championship, and nine Wimbledon Championships, the most important grass-court championship.

Since 1990 his photographic activities have been focused almost exclusively on the training sessions and matches of Barcelona Football Club. He covered Barcelona's Champions League finals at Wembley 1992, Athens 1994, Paris 2006, Rome 2009, Wembley 2011 and Berlin 2015.
