Enric Montes (Barcelona, 1969) is a photographer and photography teacher. Since 1985 his professional life has encompassed the most diverse aspects of photography. He has combined learning and teaching at various centres and schools with his activities as a professional photographer and the production of personal works which, since 1993, have been exhibited at numerous galleries and festivals, both in Spain and abroad (Ireland, France, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Japan, amongst others).

He publishes his own photography books and these include, El viaje vertical (2009), El eco de las cosas (2010) and El domador de sueños (2011), and he was a Photoespaña finalist for the Best Photography Book of the Year Award in 2010 and 2012. He took part in the collective travelling exhibition about artists' books, Passant Pàgina. El llibre com a Territori d’Art (2012) organised by the Catalan Government Ministry of Culture and the collective exhibition, Libros que son fotos, fotos que son libros (2014) held at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía.

His latest work, 20 ways to disappear (2013) was presented at the official section of Les Rencontres d’Arles (France) and in 2014 his work was included at the F exhibition organised by Photobookshow at the Tokyo Institute of Photography in Japan, as well as at the Encontros da Imagen exhibition in Braga (Portugal). All his books form part of the permanent collections at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (MNCARS) in Madrid and the Museu d’Art Contemporani (MACBA) in Barcelona.
